Fort Scott Presbyterian Village’s Art is Ageless® 2020 call for entries underway

Fort Scott Presbyterian Village has issued a call for entries for the Art is Ageless® juried exhibit to be held March 9 – 18, 2020. Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 40th anniversary Art is Ageless calendar in 2021.Artists may choose to enter the exhibit only. For the competition, works are to have been completed in the past five years (since January 2015).

Musical group ready to “chime” in for Christmas

It all began as a rumor about a pristine set of choir chimes stashed away in some unchecked closet at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village. It turned into a search that uncovered a plain-looking suitcase, which turned out to house a full set of chimes.And that turned into several months of learning and practice that will result in the inaugural performance of the Village Chimers at the community Christmas Dinner on December 5.

Fort Scott Presbyterian Village recently hosted a reception for the winning artists in the annual Art is Ageless® juried competition.“We are so lucky to have so many talented artists in our Fort Scott Community,” said Becky Kellum, marketing director. “Art is Ageless features artwork from artists age 65 and older.
