Get to know: Jennifer Wiggans

While November is officially National Caregivers Month, at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village we appreciate caregivers every month! We'd like to highlight new employee Jennifer Wiggans, certified medication aide, and share why she feels she's meant to be a caregiver in our independent and assisted living community.

"Taking care of the elderly has always been a passion of mine. I have been in this field for almost 20 years. I cannot imagine doing something that doesn't involve providing care to the elderly. I started working at Presbyterian Village just over three months ago. I got online one day and filled out an application just to see what might happen. Ellen Fairchild, director of assisted living, called me the very next day and scheduled an interview! Soon after my interview, she called and offered me a job. From the minute I started, I knew this was where I was meant to be. I feel that God planned on me coming here. When I am here, it isn’t just a job, it is a passion, and I get to share my day with a group of amazing people. From the tenants to my co-workers, everyone here is family. What started as a whim has turned into a blessing!"
