Welcome our new stylist to the Mane Room at the Village!

There’s no reason to not look and feel your best - especially with new stylist Crystal Zimmeran bringing her years of experience to a full-service salon at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village.

“I am very excited to start offering manicures, pedicures, and nail services,” Crystal said. “The women and men too, have been really happy to learn we will be a full-service salon with expanded hours. I will be offering a full-service salon, upgrading the existing salon to offer manicures, pedicures, waxing and artificial nails (dip and acrylic).”

But residents won’t be the only ones getting a new look at the Mane Room.

“We're going to give it a "mini facelift" with new flooring and paint and bring up a beautiful

pedicure salon chair, it has heat and massage,” Crystal said. “It will definitely be a luxury to have a pedi!

Crystal first became a licensed cosmetologist 33 years ago, and operated her full-service salon in Wamego. She also worked in the Crums Beauty College apprentice program and helped educate others emerging into the field. Her family moved back to Fort Scott in 2008, and Crystal said she’s excited to get back into her life’s work.

“Any client in my chair...their service and my time will be one-on-one,” Crystal said. “I always want them to know that they have my undivided attention to fulfill the services they have come to me and trusted me for.”

The work at Fort Scott Presbyterian Village will be particularly rewarding.

“My first priority is safety and convenience for the older adults,” Crystal said. The nursing staff are very accommodating to any and all needs of the residents and have been so helpful with anything needed. I have been going in and chatting with the present stylist and she has been wonderful about writing down any of their services, names, times, special needs, etc.”

Additionally, Crystal plans to offer some gift certificates and monthly specials. She also has plans to offer Mother/Daughter specials as well as hosting special events at the Mane Room. And she’ll gather feedback from her clients to better understand what the need and want.

Currently, the Mane Room plans to maintain current client schedules on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, with hopes to expand to full days on Tuesdays and Fridays to allow for expanded services.

To set up your appointment, give the Mane Room a call.

Let’s all welcome Crystal to Fort Scott Presbyterian Village!
